The Royal Kaharagian Army is a non-territorial, voluntary, uniformed service. Its soldiers serve and protect the Sovereign, the State, and the People of Kaharagia, wherever they are.

The Tests of Eligibility
Enrolment is open without distinction of birth, sex, origin, belief, or station, subject only to genuine occupational need. A person is eligible who meets all four tests.
Nationality
A national of Kaharagia, or a person otherwise approved by the Sovereign. Applicants who intend to become nationals may apply and are referred for consideration.
Age
Seventeen years or older. A person aged seventeen but under eighteen is enrolled only with the written consent of a parent or guardian, given before a notary public, and is not employed on operations.
Good Character
Of good character and not disqualified by law or by the Regulations. A materially false statement made to obtain enrolment is misconduct and may render the enrolment void.
Fitness for Service
Medically and physically fit for the duties to be undertaken. Fitness is assessed against the duties, not against a single fixed standard.
Choose Your Path
Enlisted and Officer
Every member of the Army starts with the same application, the same oath, and the same Phase One training. From there, two paths diverge: the enlisted path of the soldier and the non-commissioned officer, and the officer path of commissioned leadership.
Soldier and NCO
The backbone of the Army. Enlisted soldiers master a trade, serve in the companies, and rise through merit into the non-commissioned ranks that lead sections and set the Army's standards.
- Apply as an Enlisted Recruit. Prior recognised service may be credited.
- Attest and enrol as a Recruit (OR-0), taking the Oath of Allegiance or the Solemn Affirmation.
- Complete Phase One basic training and be confirmed as a trained soldier, holding the rank of Private (OR-1).
- Qualify in a speciality through the Royal Army College, from fieldcraft and signals to medical and logistics.
- Advance on merit through Lance Corporal, Corporal, Sergeant, and the senior non-commissioned ranks.
Officer Cadet to Commission
Officers hold a position of trust and are held to a higher standard of judgement, conduct, and leadership. Commissions are granted by the Sovereign alone (SR&O 5.04).
- Apply as an Officer Cadet, or as an Officer Applicant where you bring prior commissioned or professional standing.
- Attest and complete Phase One alongside every other recruit; officers first learn to soldier.
- Train as an Officer Cadet (OF-C) through the Royal Army College officer and leadership courses.
- Receive the Sovereign's commission as a Second Lieutenant (OF-1) on successful completion and selection.
- Command and lead, from platoon command onward, under the chain of command and the Regulations.
Specialists. Chaplains and medical, technical, and administrative specialists may be enrolled to either path according to the appointment, on the recommendation of the responsible staff branch.
From Application to Attestation
The Enrolment Process
Enrolment is completed online through this portal, from first application to the attestation ceremony. You will need a Kaharagia Connect account to apply.
- Create a Kaharagia Connect accountYour K-Connect account identifies you throughout the process and, later, in service.
- Submit your applicationYour particulars, the path and type of service you seek, your experience, and the required declarations. You can save a draft and return to it at any time.
- Review by a recruiting officerArmy Headquarters reviews every application. You can follow progress and message the recruiting staff from your applicant portal.
- Conditional offer and the Service AgreementIf accepted, the officer prepares your Enrolment and Service Agreement, stating what you are being enrolled to. You review the completed agreement and sign it.
- The attestation ceremonyYour attestation officer invites you to a video ceremony and offers appointment times to choose from. You choose freely between the Oath of Allegiance and the Solemn Affirmation, both of equal force, and may invite guests to witness.
- Enrolled as a RecruitOn attestation you are taken on the strength of the Army as a Recruit (OR-0) and assigned your Army Service Number: unique, permanent, and yours alone.
- Phase One trainingEvery recruit completes Phase One basic Army training. On confirmation you hold the rank of Private (OR-1) and may proceed along your chosen path.
Joining at seventeen. Applicants aged seventeen require the written consent of a parent or guardian, given before a notary public. A member under eighteen, or their parent or guardian, may require the member's discharge at any time before the member turns eighteen. SR&O 6.01
Service Is a Privilege, Not an Employment
Service in the Royal Kaharagian Army is voluntary and unpaid. It is undertaken in the service of the Crown and the Principality, and it is worn with pride.
